All Our Drywall Services in East York

East York was Canada’s only borough until it merged into Toronto in 1998, and most of its housing stock dates to one tight window, 1946 to 1961, when the postwar housing supply nearly doubled to accommodate returning veterans and young families. That means the vast majority of East York homes are now 65 to 80 years old, and a lot of them still have their original plaster and lath walls, or drywall installed decades before current building code caught up. Add in denser pockets like Thorncliffe Park and the newer condos filling in near the Danforth, and you get a neighbourhood where almost every drywall job is a little different depending on which decade the house was actually built in.

Why East York Counts On Express Drywall Services

• Most homes were built in a 15-year window – repairing or extending walls in a typical East York bungalow means working with materials and framing methods from the 1950s, not modern standard practice.
• Plaster and lath are still common – a lot of East York homes never got fully converted to drywall, so patching a wall here sometimes means matching plaster, not just hanging new sheets.
• Density is increasing in specific pockets – as areas like Thorncliffe Park and the Danforth corridor add taller buildings, we handle the commercial and multi-unit drywall work that comes with that alongside our residential jobs.
